Biography
Matt Burns is the Finance Manager at Mitchell Sandler with over 10 years of experience in auditing, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
Prior to joining Mitchell Sandler, Matt worked as Accounting Manager at L.L. Bean, Inc. and Accenture Federal Services. In these roles he was responsible for: managing and overseeing the fiscal month-end close, supporting year-end financial statements audits, presenting monthly financial results to senior leadership, evaluating design effectiveness and executing internal controls, and providing guidance across the business as an accounting subject matter expert.
Matt started his career at Grant Thornton LLP where he led engagement teams as a Senior Auditor for large private and public companies across a variety of industries - such as government contracting, telecommunications, manufacturing, and sports & entertainment. Through each of these roles Matt has gained an understanding of sound financial accounting practices.
