Biography

Bree Murphy is a white collar litigator with two decades of experience representing clients in the boardroom and the courtroom as they navigate internal investigations, government scrutiny, civil complaints, and criminal prosecution. With a deep understanding of the impact an investigation may have on individuals and businesses, Bree defends and guides her clients with an eye towards minimizing stress and disruption.

Over her career, Bree has been dedicated to pro bono work and community engagement. She has worked in partnership with the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the Washington Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Justice, and Families Against Mandatory Minimums (FAMM) towards the compassionate release of unjustly incarcerated individuals, and she has secured release, parole, or clemency for several clients. Bree led her prior firm’s partnership with a local Title I elementary school, raising funds and organizing enrichment programs for students, as well as programs to benefit families and staff.

Prior to joining Mitchell Sandler, Bree was senior counsel at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe, and at Buckley LLP.
